Fourier’s Global Standard Development Lead, Burkhard Zimmermann, elected Technical Project Lead for IEC SC62D, JWG36

Switzerland, 25th January 2023 – Fourier’s Global Standard Development Lead, Burkhard Zimmermann, has been elected Technical Project Lead for IEC SC62D JWG 36 (RACA Robot). Based in Switzerland, he will focus on advancing global standards implementation in medical robotics for rehabilitation.

Burkhard is the founding member of the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology (IISART), an organisation dedicated to advancing modern healthcare technology to benefit the patient and the profession. Burkhard’s new role as Technical Project Lead for RACA Robot is vital for Fourier Intelligence’s positive support in international standards and other publications to support safety and performance for medical equipment and software systems.

JWG36 is an esteemed committee dedicated to continuously improving the standards applicable to the general requirements for basic safety and essential performance of medical robots for rehabilitation, compensation or alleviation of disease, injury or disability.
